Undergraduate Program
Physiological Science provides a rich background that covers cellular through whole organism physiology, and is appropriate for a variety of professions. Many of our students consider themselves "Pre-Med" which means that they are satisfying requirements for entering Medical School upon graduation, or in the near future. Others seek rewarding careers in research, teaching, physical therapy, nursing, optometry and pharmacy, just to name a few options.
In addition to enjoying a strong curriculum in science, students in the major have diverse interests. Their activities include taking on a minor or choosing to double major, as well as participating in student government, volunteer work, academic and honor societies, a sorority or fraternity, and athletics. Whatever you do, take advantage of your undergraduate experience and participate in it as fully as possible because you only get one chance to be in this space at this time with this amount of liberty to explore. Take classes that you have always wanted to take in addition to the requirements, and enjoy your years here at UCLA.
