LAB ALUMNI :

Nadia Altaf; Nadia was the lab's first undergrad. She graduated from Physiological Science (Phy Sci) in 2003. She then obtained a Master's degree from the University of Southern California's Health Administration program.

Justin Brown; Justin was formerly a Phy Sci undergrad and MARC U*STAR student. As of October 2006 he has been enrolled in Stanford University's Graduate Program in Neuroscience.

Linh Bui; An Ecology and Evolutionary Biology undergrad who graduated in 2005, Linh is now a research assistant at Stanford University Medical School and is applying to medical school.

Janet Byun; A Neuroscience IDP graduate student, Janet spent one year in the lab and then moved to the Boelter laboratory at UCLA in 2001. She received her Master's Degree in Physiological Science in 2008.

Justine Chen; Justine received her B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in 2007 and is now enrolled in UCSF's dental school.

Lizette Flores; Lizette spent a full year in the lab (2006-07) and is presently pursuing undergraduate studies in Biopsychology.

Aradia Fu; Aradia was a Neuroscience IDP undergraduate in 2006 who later applied to medical school.

Susan Imamura; In 2004, Susan spent her summer short term training program in our lab as part of her medical school training at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA.

Judy Kim; Judy was an MCDB undergrad who graduated with highest deparmental honors in 2005. She is presently enrolled at UCSF Medical School.

Christine Lee; Christine was a Phy Sci undergrad and is presently enrolled at Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific.

Hojoon Lee; Hojoon was an ACCESS rotation student in 2003. In 2007, Hojoon received a Ph.D. for his doctoral work in the DeRobertis lab at UCLA.

Vivian Lin; Vivian was a summer 2005 undergrad volunteer who was enrolled at Cornell University.

Jerry Lin; Jerry was also a summer 2005 undergrad volunteer who was enrolled at Cornell University.

Frans Loriaux; Frans was work-study student in 2005 and is now a research assistant in biotech.

Dzenan Lulic; Dzenan was a Phy Sci undergrad and who received highest departmental honors in 2004. He enrolled at UCSD Medical School, and is currently in neurosurgery residency at the University of Florida, Tampa.

Bill Luo; A graduate of the Neuroscience undergraduate IDP in 2006, Bill then enrolled at UC Davis Medical School.

Jannette Magtahas; Jannette worked in the lab as a Bridge student during summer 2006 and is continuing her bachelor's degree now at UCLA.

Anahid Mirzatoni; An MCIP graduate student, Anahid rotated in the lab in 2006 before joining the Schlinger lab at UCLA.

Carol's Montes; During 2006 and 2007, Carol's conducted research in the lab on behavioral regulation of FoxP2. She is now in the UC Davis post-baccalaureate program.

Jasmin Morrison; Jasmin was a Phy Sci undergrad and UC Leads scholar. She began Medical School at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in 2007.

Paige Nilson; Paige was our first Staff Research Assistant. In 2007, she graduated from Cornell University’s School of Veterinary Medicine and then returned to California for residency in neurology and neurosurgery in San Diego.

Monika Nguyen; Monika investigated FoxP1 protein during her junior year. She is now enrolled in Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.

Van Nguyen; In 2005, Van obtained laboratory experience with us while a Neuroscience IDP undergrad. After working in the Brecha lab at UCLA, Van attended an NIH post-baccalaureate program.

Michael Oldham; As a Neuroscience IDP graduate student, Mike rotated with us in 2003 before joining the Geschwind lab at UCLA.

Sarah Oh; Sarah was our work-study student from 2005 to 2006.

Joan Ong; Joan was a Phy Sci undergrad who ran experiments in the lab during 2001-03. She is now a research assistant at UCI and is applying to dental schools.

Sharrie Oh; At first Sharrie was a work-study student who cared for our colony. Then she began to conduct research in the lab as a Phy Sci undergrad along with Judy Kim. After graduation in 2004, Sharrie was accepted to USC's Pharmacy School.

Amy Poopatanapong, M.S.; Amy was our senior research assistant for four years before moving to Hawaii in 2007 to work at the Maui Bird conservation Center in Makawao.

Jill Pottratz; An ACCESS rotation student in 2005, Jill joined the Bradley lab at UCLA.

Sandra Rodriguez, R.N.; Sandra was our first Summer Bridge Program student, in 2004.

Ikuko Teramitsu, Ph.D.; Ikuko was Stephanie's first doctoral student and also the inaugural member of the Molecular, Cellular and Integrative Physiology program. She graduated in 2006 and is presently pursuing postdoctoral research at the Wolfson Institute for Biomedical Research, University College London.

Sam Torrisi, MFA, MA.; Sam graduated in 2007 with a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics. He is now pursuing a Ph.D in UCLA's Interdepartmental Neuroscience program.

Monica Tse; Monica worked in the lab for a year (2006-07) while pursuing her Bachelor's degree here at UCLA. She continues to bring excellent treats into the lab periodically.

Marc Uemura; Marc was a Phy Sci undergrad who assisted Dzenan in neurosurgeries. After graduation in 2004, he enrolled at UCI Medical School.

Laura Vician-Taylor; Laura volunteered in the lab over summer 2001 while still in high school. Since then, she has graduated from college and been employed by the Nature Conservancy.

Damien Wigfall; Damien cared for our bird colony as a work-study student in 2002.

Lan Xiao; Lan was a work-study student in 2002.

Linbo Yu; Linbo conducted behavioral studies in the lab during Winter and Spring 2007. She graduated and is pursuing a Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from UC Irvine.

Vincent Yu; Vincent was our work study student from January '05 until he graduated in Spring '07. He is now employed in the aerospace industry.

Arbel Maghsoodpour; Arbel helped out as a work-study student from 2006-2007.

Cindy Fan; Cindy helped out as a work-study student in 2007.

Ellen Fitzmorris, B.S. ; Ellen spent two quarters in the lab for Neuroscience 199A/B, studying the cortical nucleus HVC, which joins the learning and production circuits in the songbird brain. Ellen is currently completing undergraduate coursework and exploring research possibilities.

Elizabeth Wong, M.A. ; Elizabeth was a master’s student in the Physiological Science Department. She began working in the White Lab in the Fall of 2006 after receiving her B.S. in Human Biology at Brown University. Her research focused on genetic intervention of Area X by virus-mediated delivery in zebra finches.
