Formerly: Graduate Student, Department of Physiological Science

Principle Research Interests:
Neurosteroidogenic enzyme activity and localization in the brain.  Estrogens are known to influence the development of the song system of the male zebra finch brain.  Using slice culture techniques and biochemical assays, I am studying the level of neurosteroidogenic enzyme activity in sagittal slices across the brain at different stages of post hatch development.  My focus is primarily on the activity or aromatase and 3BHSD around the song system nuclei of HVC and RA.
